Who are the Youthentity Career Academy Instructors?
Youthentity depends on its base of businesses and professionals to help teach and support our programs. Below, we’ve written an introduction to a few of the skilled professionals who help our Career Academy students learn new skills in various industries, including architecture, building and construction, hospitality business and culinary arts.
Youthentity’s new high school career exploration program Career Academy is lucky to have a group of coaches who are passionate about teaching kids about the opportunities that exist in the areas of architecture, design, construction, hospitality, food and beverage, and culinary arts. Our instructors are all experts in their individual field – meet a few of the coaches who help make it all happen!
Matt Maier, ProStart Lead Instructor
Matt has been with Youthentity since 2013 and helped design the ProStart program, a national culinary arts skills program that teaches culinary arts and hospitality business. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Matt has worked in the kitchens of Aspen’s five-star restaurants as well as running his successful private chef business. Matt calls Youthentity’s ProStart program “The most important work of my career,” and looks forward to each new class. Matt will continue to teach the ProStart program under the new Career Academy track, Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management.
Mark Gould, instructor, Structure Design & The Building Industry
Mark Gould is a busy man – but never too busy to help out in his community. His construction company, Gould Construction, is well-known here in the Roaring Fork Valley, and Mark has hosted Youthentity’s Construction Management program for the last three years at the construction company’s Glenwood Springs headquarters. Guiding students through building projects, safety standards, proper tool usage and so much more, Mark is integral to helping students understand that the construction business is more than hammers and nails, there are many paths one can take and that there are plenty of opportunities for advancement.
Scotty Reardon, instructor, Structure Design & The Building Industry
Scotty is a Concrete Superintendent at Gallegos Corporation and a critical member of the Structure Design & Building Industry team. Scotty helps to oversee the students’ semester project and bringing in Gallegos experts to introduce students to the skilled trades such as masonry, electrical planning and installation, and welding.
Sandy Lowell, instructor, Structure Design & The Building Industry
Formerly with Wagner Equipment, Sandy is incredibly experienced in the construction industry. Sandy joined Youthentity as a Construction Management instructor in 2016, and most recently led Youthentity Construction students through the complex semester project of making two handbuilt pizza ovens.
Gino Rosetti, lead instructor, Structure Design & The Building Industry
Gino Rosetti is a world renowned architect who founded his namesake architectural firm in 1969 in Detroit and built a name for the award-winning company through sleek, modern sports arenas like the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Gino has helped Youthentity’s Design team students understand the art and science of creating beautiful structures through the high school program called Design Team, which now falls under the Structure Design & Building Industry track. Gino’s projects have included leading Design Team students through real-world architectural projects which included drafting and designing a new city building around its natural environment and presenting it to council members.
