Inaugural Youthentity Career Day at Aspen Middle School!

On April 19th, Youthentity brought its My Career, My Life program to Aspen Middle School students, facilitating mini-internships with area professionals in the fields of veterinary science, journalism, finance, culinary arts, finance, architectural design and building, and public safety.

During their experiential learning workshops, students took on projects such as tiny home design, magazine production, and stitching up wounds (on bananas). Thank you to our incredible volunteer Career Coaches: Aspen Magazine Editor Christine Benedetti, All Pets Mobile Vet DVM Oneal Peters and assistants Lindsey Schoepfle and Hannah Bilstad, City of Aspen Police Sergeant Chip Seamans, House Design & Build owner Chris Dolan, architect Beatriz Soto, and Edward Jones Financial Planner Daniel Chaput. And of course, thank you to the faculty and staff at Aspen Middle School for making the inaugural MCML a success!

My Career, My Life is a youth career development program that serves over 750 elementary and middle school students a year in schools throughout the Western Slope. Our hope is to jumpstart kids’ ideas around what kind of job and career they’d like to have, provide insight and hands-on experience into those jobs, and to show them the paths to making those careers a reality. Our Career Coaches are area professionals from fields that include hospitality, construction, architecture, culinary arts, tech, public safety and more. MCML aims to show kids what is possible for their futures through a diverse range of industries and jobs available right here in the Roaring Fork Valley.
