Youthentity has been fortunate to welcome two new staff members into the fold. Meet the latest additions to the Career Academy dream team.

Greg Beachey, Career Academy Director

Hired in July 2020, Greg Beachey will lead the Career Academy program. Greg has over 35 years of experience in the food industry, and includes owning and operating a food wholesale company and a restaurant, working as executive chef in operations including small to very large restaurants, conference centers, large senior living, camps, resort hotels and school foodservice. He found his calling as a chef educator in a ProStart high school career and tech program., and worked for several years as part of the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation with the ProStart program, focusing on educator training and the national competition. He has also been a part of the SkillsUSA national culinary competition for 32 years, acting as the Technical Committee Chair for the past 7. Greg was selected as the Expert for the WorldSkillsUSA culinary program and coached the competitor for the World Championship in Kazan, Russia in 2019, and is currently preparing the competitor for Shanghai 2022.

In his free time, Greg enjoys hiking and ice carving and virtual game nights with his children on each coast. He has been honored twice as an ACF Chapter Chef of the Year, and has competed at the World Ice Art Championships in Fairbanks, AK in 2012, 2017 and 2020.

Joe Daboul, Lead Chef Instructor

Originally from the Michigan, Chef Joe started his academic career by attending Michigan State University where he studied Food Industry Management within the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources. After working as a corporate retail sales representative for Kraft Foods, Inc., he left Midwest to pursue a degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson & Wales University in Denver, CO. Since graduating in 2012, he has worked at some of Denver’s most accoladed restaurants including Spuntino, and most notably, Beast + Bottle. Chef Joe has pursued other endeavors in the culinary industry including recipe and menu publishing and restaurant consulting, but the bulk of his career lies within the domestic division, working as a private chef. As a chef instructor for the Hospitality Program at Youthentity, Chef Joe joins Chef Matt Maier in creating a rigorous curriculum, working diligently with students to teach and implement the fundamentals of culinary arts and hospitality management. In his spare time, Chef Joe enjoys hiking, backpacking, and camping with his puppy Baba Ganoush.
