Youthentity Timeline: From 2007 to now

Looking back on Youthentity’s evolution since the organization’s founding in 2007, we can’t help but take pride in our growth. Our programs continue to help more young people discover their strengths and interests through career exploration, and our financial literacy program continues to expand to reach more kids throughout the Western Slope. Take a look at where we started, and where we are now!

Key milestones we’ve hit along the way include:

2007: Youthentity founded as Computers For Kids, a program which taught kids to build their own computers and became the model for Youthentity’s experiential learning model.

2010: Launched the first financial literacy program in schools for 5th grade students, along with career exploration programs YouthChefs, WebEntity and Design Team.

2013: Launched Level II of our financial literacy program for 8th grade students, added ProStart to career exploration programming.

2017: Launched Construction & Engineering career exploration program for high school students in partnership with Gallegos Corp, Gould Construction and Wagner Caterpillar.

2019: Launched Career Academy, an expansion of our high school career exploration programs. Career Academy helps students investigate jobs and careers which match their strengths and interests through a year-long, for-credit program in which they work alongside industry professionals to gain real-world skills through hands-on learning.

In 2020 and into the future, we’re poised for further expansion. With plans to add Animal & Human Health Services to our Career Academy program in Spring 2021, and adding digital learning tools to our financial literacy learning platform, we can’t wait to reach more youth throughout the Western Slope and beyond!
